At CES 2025, LG has introduced a groundbreaking addition to its UltraGear lineup: that is the newly released 45GX990A, the world’s first bendable 5K2K gaming monitor. This unique kind of display has received a lot of attention and has received three CES 2025 Innovation awards and ‘Best of Innovation’.

  • Bendable OLED Display: The UltraGear OLED Bendable Gaming Monitor is a 45-inch panel worthy of attention, the resolution of which is 5K2K (5120 х 2160), and it can switch from a flat form to a curvature of 900R, which is convenient in various gaming situations.

  • Dual-Mode Functionality: The second generation of the Dual-Mode from LG allows aspect ratio settings to be changed to 21:9 or 16:9 and picture sizes of 39, 34 or 27 inches and switching between the screen resolution and refresh rate settings is only a one-push affair. This feature offers 8 solutions, which allows setting up the gaming space for different genres of games, and for the FPS, RPG, MOBA, and racing-simulations.

  • High Performance: Subtle matters such as response time, in this case around 0.03ms (GtG), are important to help gamers achieve smooth gameplay input in order to minimize motion blur and ghosting symptoms.

  • Connectivity Options: It also features DisplayPort 2.1, HDMI 2.1, USB-C with 90W fast charging, which guarantees the compatibility with modern graphics cards and other devices to allow for charging accurately.

  • Adaptive Sync Technology: NVIDIA G-SYNC® certified and AMD FreeSync™ Premium Pro, the 45GX990A reduces screen tearing for a smooth and responsive gameplay.

More Modes in the Expansion of the GX9 Series

Alongside the 45GX990A, LG has introduced other models in the GX9 lineup:

  • UltraGear OLED Gaming Monitor (45GX950A): The curvature is permanent at 800R, and it boasts the 5K2K resolution, to give you vibrant and immersive images that are every bit as clear, vibrant and detailed as the real thing. It also has the Dual-Mode specification and has the same connectivity features as the 45GX990A .

  • UltraGear 39GX90SA: Intended as a home entertainment system, this 39-inch 21:9 aspect ratio curved (800R) OLED panel has webOS built-in and allows users to access streaming services without a PC or set-top box. It provides multiple connection choices such as USB Type-C ports and comes with a clean desk concept L-shaped stand.

Availability

Specific prices and dates when the new UltraGear GX9 series monitors will be launched have not been unveiled, but LG promised to announce them at the second half of 2025. These monitors are all ready to underscore the trend in gaming monitors by incorporation of innovative technology and user oriented characteristics.
