Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information GamesYap (“we”, “us”) collects when you use the GamesYap website (including its game subdomains) and the GamesYap apps, how we use it, and the choices you have.

Information we collect

  • Account data: display name, email address, birth year and the sign-in methods you use (email and password, Google or Apple). Passwords are stored only as secure hashes.
  • Gameplay data: play sessions, levels, matches, scores, achievements, cloud saves, favorites, ratings and the points they earn.
  • Device and log data: browser or app type, operating system, language, signed-in devices, IP address and basic logs that keep the service secure and help us fix problems.
  • Cookies and similar technologies: see Cookies & Ads.
  • RevType connection: if you connect RevType, we store the RevType player key needed to transfer points, and RevType sends us back only what we need to complete each transfer (whether it was accepted, a transfer reference and, where needed, whether your RevType account meets the age rule).
  • Messages you send us: the name, email address and message from our contact form or your emails.

How we use information

  • To run your account and keep your points, saves and settings across games and devices.
  • To check gameplay results, prevent cheating and keep the service safe.
  • To answer your messages and requests.
  • To show ads and measure how the service is used, based on your privacy choices.
  • To meet our legal obligations.

Advertising and Google

We use Google AdSense and Google Ad Manager on the website (and Google AdMob in our apps) to show ads. Ads never give points, and points never depend on whether you watch or click an ad.

  • Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites.
  • Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to GamesYap and/or other sites on the Internet.
  • You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of some third-party vendors’ use of cookies for personalized advertising at www.aboutads.info.
  • Learn how Google uses information from sites that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
  • The other ad partners we work with are listed in our ads.txt file.

If you opt out, you will still see ads, but they will be less related to your interests.

Consent in the EEA, UK and Switzerland

If you visit from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, we use a Google-certified consent management platform (CMP) that follows the IAB Transparency and Consent Framework. Until you make a choice, Google Consent Mode keeps advertising and analytics storage switched off, and marketing tags don’t load. You can review or change your choice at any time from the privacy settings link of the consent message, or in Settings → Privacy choices when signed in. In our iOS app we ask for permission before any tracking (App Tracking Transparency).

Children

You must be 13 or older to create a GamesYap account. Children under 13 can play without an account: they see a child-safe catalog and only non-personalized ads, every ad request for them is tagged for child treatment with Google, and we don’t knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child under 13 has given us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

Legal bases (EEA, UK and Switzerland)

We use your information because it is needed to provide the service you asked for (your account, saves and points), because of our legitimate interests (keeping games fair and the service secure, and fixing problems), because you agreed (personalized ads and analytics cookies, which you can take back at any time), or because the law requires it.

Sharing

We share information only with:

  • service providers that help us run GamesYap (hosting, storage, email, security, analytics and advertising), under agreements that limit how they may use it;
  • RevType, when you choose to transfer points (your RevType player key and the number of points);
  • authorities, when the law requires it or to protect players and the service.

We never sell your personal information for money.

International transfers

Our service providers, including Google, may process information in countries other than yours. When information from the EEA, UK or Switzerland is transferred, it is protected by the safeguards the law requires, such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses.

US state privacy rights

If you live in a US state with a consumer privacy law (for example California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia or Utah), you can ask to know, access, correct or delete your personal information, and to opt out of personalized advertising, which some of these laws call “sharing” or “targeted advertising”. To opt out, use the privacy choices in the consent message or in Settings → Privacy choices, or turn on Global Privacy Control in your browser. We won’t treat you differently for using these rights. Send other requests through our contact form.

How long we keep data

  • Account, gameplay and points data: while your account is active. When you delete your account, we delete this data, except records we must keep by law.
  • Guest data in our apps: deleted after 90 days without activity.
  • Security logs: kept only as long as needed to protect the service, normally no longer than 12 months.
  • Contact messages: kept for up to 24 months after the conversation ends.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you can ask to access, correct, export or delete your personal information, or object to some uses of it. You can do most of this yourself in Settings; for anything else, contact us. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.

Delete your account

You can delete your account at any time on the Delete account page or in Settings → Delete account in the app. This really deletes your account data, including your points and history.

Security

We protect data with encryption in transit, hashed passwords, access controls and regular reviews. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong password that you don’t use anywhere else.

Changes

We may update this policy and will publish the new version on this page. For important changes we will also let signed-in players know.
