Every fall teaches you the trick, so you laugh, respawn in a blink and try again. There are twenty-four hand-made rooms in three worlds: sunny Sunny Steps, the glowing Echo Caves and the gear-filled Clockwork Keep.
Earn stars for the fewest falls, use the hint bulb when you're stuck, and take on the daily dare. Collect coins and dress Pip in eight outfits; the crown is only for those who beat every room. Yes. It runs in the browser on phones, tablets and computers. On a phone you hold the left and right buttons to run and tap or hold the big button to jump. On a computer you use the arrow keys, A and D, and Space.
It is a jump-and-run game built to surprise you. The level looks simple, but hidden traps catch you off guard: floors vanish, spikes appear or controls change. You learn each trick by falling for it, then beat the room with that knowledge.
It is meant to be funny rather than unfair. You respawn instantly, the rooms are short, and after three falls a hint bulb explains Nix's trick. Most players laugh at the traps and clear rooms after a few tries.
Gotcha Steps has 24 hand-made rooms in three worlds: Sunny Steps, the Echo Caves and the Clockwork Keep. Each room hides different tricks. Clearing all of them earns the Trap Master achievement and unlocks the crown for Pip.
