Ludo Lantern is a free ludo game you can play online in your browser, with no download needed. It is the classic four-colour dice race, set on a carved wooden board under glowing festival lanterns. You throw 3D dice, bring tokens out with a 6, race them round the board and send rivals home with a capture.
Play quick matches against three cartoon rivals, Kiran, Mei and Tobi, on Easy, Normal or Hard. Climb the ten rounds of the Lantern Cup, or switch on Lantern Powers for shields, +3 boosts and extra rolls. Pass-and-play lets 2 to 4 friends share one device.
The board turns so your colour always sits at the bottom, and it fills the screen on phones, tablets and computers. Ludo Lantern is an original game made by the GamesYap team. For another family board game, try Disc Drop Duel.
Yes. Ludo Lantern is free to play in your web browser, and you don't need to download or install anything. Coins you win unlock new boards, tokens, dice and avatar frames, which change the look of the game only.
Version 2.0.8Nov 2, 2026
2.0.6: Smoother on phones: lighter drawing every frame, less stutter. 2.0.5: Runs smoother on phones: no more sudden freezes, less stutter, and touches are never lost. The points icon now shows where your points go. 2.0.4: Store art: the game title on the covers no longer hides under the NEW badge. 2.0.3: Clearer wording: ad rewards give coins only (never points), daily chests show their prize chances, and a few names were made original. 2.0.2: Sharper graphics on phones: the game no longer drops to a low-resolution canvas on slower devices. 2.0.1: Fix: the dice now clearly shows the rolled number on its big front face (the top and side faces are fainter, so a 6 never reads as a 2). 2.0.0: Big update. Lantern Cup: a 10-round ladder from Easy to the Festival Final, with coins for each first win and a Next round button. Bot level Easy / Normal / Hard. Lantern Powers mode: glowing tiles give a Shield, a +3 boost or an extra roll. The dice is now thrown onto the board and bounces into your yard with a rattle. Emotes: send a reaction and the bots answer. Carved wooden board frame with inlays and a swinging centre lantern. New shop: 5 dice styles and 4 avatar frames. Daily gift, 3 daily quests, a daily chest and free coins (coins only). A capture boing and a home chime. 1.2.0: Full-screen phone layout in portrait and landscape (board centred, four player seats around it, Roll button in the thumb zone, bigger tap zones). Four cartoon players with names, turn rings, progress bars and live reactions in speech bubbles (You, Kiran, Mei, Tobi; tap your avatar to change your look; pass-and-play seats get their own avatars). Quick match vs 3 bots is the new default, with a goal card, faster skippable bot turns, a 3D tumbling dice, hopping tokens with squash, capture knock-back and camera shake, six sparkles, home bursts and winner confetti. New progression: stars per win, lantern ranks, best-win record, a daily challenge with a coin reward, token styles and a next-unlock teaser. Fireflies and a moonlit lantern sky. 1.1.0: Gameplay and art polish: new Quick 2-pawn race (default for new players), first-match coach (first roll is a 6), bigger lit pawns and 3D dice, tap the target square to move, ghost preview of the move, recessed board with depth, parallax lanterns and rooftops, four unlockable board styles (coins from wins, cosmetic only), standard win/fail screens with a rewind retry, the start break now comes after the first Play tap, compact two-column menu on landscape phones, scripted store preview. 1.0.0: First release: 2–4 players vs smart bots or pass-and-play, captures, safe squares, home lanes, bonus rolls, four achievements.

Yes. It runs in the browser on phones, tablets and computers. The board fills the screen in portrait and landscape, and the Roll button sits where your thumb can reach it. You can also play with a mouse or keyboard.
Each player races tokens around the board by rolling a dice. A 6 brings a token out of its base. Landing on a rival sends it home, except on safe squares. After a full lap, a token walks up its home lane. The first player to get every token to the center wins.
Yes. Choose Pass and Play in the match setup to play with 2 to 4 people on the same phone, tablet or computer. Each player gets their own colour and avatar. You can also mix in bots by playing against the computer instead.
Lantern Powers is an optional rule you can switch on in the match setup. Three glowing tiles appear on the track: a Shield that protects a token from capture, a +3 boost, and an extra roll. A used tile comes back somewhere else after a turn or two.
