Folk Heroes is a free 3D idle hero game that you can play online in your browser with no download. The monsters from Thakurma's bedtime tales have come to life and are raiding the village, so Tia, who grew up on those tales, calls the heroes of the old Bengal stories to defend the camps.
Behind every hero's post is a workshop. You can watch the next batch of gear pile up on the pallet, then the craftsman sets it out on the hero's cart. Tia carries pots of sweets to Gopal the jester, arrows to Princess Kiranmala and drums to Dhol Kaka, and the heroes chase off the cheeky rakkhosh, khokkosh and bhoot in line. Every monster runs away dropping coins. Level up the posts, hire helpers, scatter the aleya lights and ride the bullock cart to the forest edge, the river fort and finally the Palace Feast.

a storybook look of its own: tall wooden watchtowers with pointed roofs and pennants at every post, a village dirt road with only rickshaws and bikes, a lower camera from further round, bold warm-brown outlines; new covers with Gopal, Kiranmala and a rakkhosh; the preview starts with the monsters already in line.

Yes. The game runs in the browser on phones, tablets and computers, upright or sideways. On a touch screen you drag anywhere to walk, and a card with large buttons appears wherever you stand. On a computer you walk with the arrow keys or WASD and press E to buy a level.
Gopal is the clever jester of the old stories, Kiranmala is the brave princess, and Lalkamal and Neelkamal are the two prince brothers of the fairy tales. Mahua and Malua come from the old ballads of Mymensingh. Dhol Kaka the drummer, Jele Bhai the fisherman and Pakhi with her slingshot are new heroes made for the game.
In Bengal's folk tales, aleya lights are mysterious glowing lights over the marshes at night. In the game they float over a camp's yard every few minutes, and the craftsmen there stop working until every light is scattered. Walk at each one, or hire Haru the lamp keeper, who rides over and scatters them for you.
